The first climate change industry awareness workshop "Managing Climate Change: Clean Technology Solutions for Howrah Foundry and Casting Cluster" was organised on 27th June, 2008 at Hotel Kenilworth, Kolkata, India by HSBC in association with TIFAC (Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and School of Automotive Engineering, Jadvapur University under the aegis of Earth Sciences Forum.
Eminent dignitaries, leaders from the field, HSBC SME Customers and potential customers, attended the workshop. Prof. Pradip Narayan Ghosh, Vice Chancellor, Jadavpur University gave the inaugural address. Dr. Anand Patwardhan, Executive Director, TIFAC was Guest of Honour and Dr. Placid Rodriguez, President, Indian Nuclear Society, Chennai, and Mr. Yenten Lama, CEO’s Representative, Eastern India, HSBC India were the Chief Guests.
The workshop created an informed environment to understand the impact of climate change and suggested options to modify the existing technology to mitigate the impact of climate change by the Foundry and Casting cluster. Workshop also provided insights to cluster on benefits of bundling, possible finance opportunities and how to benefit from CDM projects. |
