HSBC has partnered with Junior Achievement (JA) to start JA Careers with a Purpose in Mumbai, India. JA is the world’s largest organisation dedicated to educating students about work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship and worldwide reaches out to around 7.5 million students per year in 305,000 classrooms and after–school locations across 115countries.
In India, HSBC has partnered with JA for an employee volunteering programme in cities of Chennai and Mumbai and will shortly be launching it in Bangalore.
In Chennai, HSBC volunteers have completed the second batch of the JA–Careers with a Purpose programme with very positive feedback from students, JA programme staff and volunteers themselves.
Volunteers interacted with more than 250 students over the 6 week period. Overall, 180 hours of volunteering time was contributed by volunteers through this volunteering programme. |
