HSBC supports 1298 ? Ambulance Access for All - initiativeFollowing the Mumbai terror attacks of November last year, the urgent need emerged for an efficient and round-the-clock emergency medical response system. HSBC as part of its disaster management initiatives decided to support four Advanced Life Support Systems (ALS) and two Basic Life Support Systems (BLS), a part of the ?Dial 1298 for Ambulance? initiative.

One ALS and one BLS was launched by Mrs. Green, wife of HSBC?s Group Chairman Stephen Green, on 15th May 2009. This project will provide a network of Fully Equipped Advanced and Basic Life Support Ambulances 24 hours x 7 days a week. The service has been set-up with technical and managerial assistance from London Ambulance Service and New HSBC supports 1298 ? Ambulance Access for All - initiativeYork Presbyterian EMS, two of the world?s largest and best metropolitan Ambulance Services. 1298 today has a strength of 51 ambulances and is presently in need of 20 additional ambulances to service all areas in Mumbai effectively and efficiently.
