Secure Online Credit Card Payment Services
Make online shopping even more secure with the added power of "password" to protect your credit card payment on the internet. You can get a password and use it like an ATM PIN for making online payments, at no additional cost.
You can now avail of HSBC's new Secure Online Payment Service for performing online transactions*. HSBC has launched 'Verified by VISA' for your HSBC VISA credit card and 'MasterCard® SecureCodeTM for your HSBC MasterCard credit card. It provides you with the extra security and peace of mind when you shop online with your HSBC credit card**.

Password protection
- You create a password of your choice - the service is available for all HSBC credit cards
- Use it like your ATM PIN (Personal Identification Number) - ensuring that only you can use your credit card online
Additional protection with the personal message
- You can create your own personal message - further protection of your secure password
- You check your own personal message prior to entering your password - confirming that your transaction is authenticated by HSBC
How Does Online Credit Card Payment Work?
- Register for Secure Online Payment Service at online@hsbc by creating your password and personal message
- Shop online at participating merchants*** and pay with your personal HSBC credit card which you have registered for the Secure Online Payment Service
- Verify that the authentication screen is genuine by checking that the personal message is the one you have created at the time of registration
- Enter your password to authenticate the transaction and complete your online purchase

* This service is applicable for only those merchants who are registered with Verified by VISA and/or MasterCard® SecureCodeTM.
** HSBC's Online Secure Payment Service is available for Primary credit cardholders. This service is not available for corporate credit cardholders and add-on credit cardholders.
***Any online purchase made, at such a registered merchant with your HSBC credit card will be declined if you have not yet registered the card for HSBC's Secure Online Payment Service. However, so as not to cause you any inconvenience for purchases you may make before registration, HSBC will exceptionally process your payment through a secure conditional authentication upon successful verification of your personal information. It is strongly recommended that you register with SecurePay to ensure the maximum protection from online credit card fraud.
