FAQs

How do I protect my assets?

Protecting your assets entails purchasing insurance to cover your house, your household contents and personal belongings and your vehicles.
To protect your vehicle you can purchase a comprehensive insurance plan which not only covers you for the liability arising out of third party damage but also covers the loss or damage to your vehicle.
To protect your house and its contents you can rely on a home insurance plan which offers you an optimum and customized home insurance solution. It should insure your property from natural and man-made calamities.

How do I make a claim?

You should contact your HSBC branch/RM or the insurance company's claims department as soon as the event covered during the policy period.

You will then be asked to fill in a claim form and submit documentary evidence to support your claim.
  • Invoices, receipts and/or estimates for property damage, loss or theft will be required in the case of home insurance.
  • Full medical evidence and receipts for medical treatment will be called for in the case of medical claims.
  • Birth and death certificates are needed for personal accident/life insurance policies, wherein a death benefit is payable.
In liability cases, it is the third party (the person who actually faces the damage) that makes the claim. So, to a large extent, the claim is out of your hands. Once the third party provides all the necessary information and evidence to the insurer, he or she receives the payment.
