Personal Travel Insurance Cover Terms and Conditions

All insurance benefits listed are provided directly to credit cardholders by ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd. (termed as Insurance Company), whose terms, conditions and decisions, for which the bank is not liable shall apply and is binding upon the credit cardholders.

  1. You will be covered for personal insurance which is a air accident policy and travel inconvenience insurance which includes missed connecting flight international cover, cover for loss of checked-in baggage (international) delayed flight cover (international), loss of passport / or travel documents cover, delayed baggage (International) as per the rules of the group insurance policy taken by HSBC India
  2. Any claims raised by the credit cardholder has to be raised directly to the insurance company as per the communicated process for settling claims and the insurance company shall be solely liable for compensation, recovery of compensation, processing of claims or otherwise or in any manner whatsoever
  3. HSBC India shall not be held liable for any deficiency in service on part of the insurance company or for the delay in the process of the claim(s) raised by the credit cardholder with the insurance company and all disputes in this regard should be taken up with the insurance company
  4. You acknowledge that the insurance benefit provided on the credit card will be available to you as per terms of the relevant insurance policy in force and only so long as you are and remain as a credit card holder of HSBC India, with your account being good and regular and in the event of the credit card facility being delinquent, suspended or terminated for whatever reason, the benefit of such insurance cover shall automatically and ipso facto cease to be available from such date of cessation of membership
  5. HSBC India may at any time (at its sole discretion and without giving notice thereof) suspend, amend or cancel the benefit of such insurance cover and there will be no binding obligation on HSBC India to continue this benefit
  6. In case of an air accidental death, the legal heir's assignee shall not be entitled to be paid any amount under the group insurance policy by the insurance company unless and until all the dues to HSBC India are settled. HSBC India shall have first charge/ lien on the insurance amount and shall be entitled to seek adjustment of the insurance amount due by the credit cardholder at the time the insurance claim is made
  7. In case of personal air accident insurance, the air ticket has to be purchased by the cardholder on the HSBC credit cards. The insurance is applicable only upon air accidental death. The cover is available to you regardless of any other existing insurance that you may have. Please ensure that your nominee is aware of the insurance cover and its claim procedure
  8. Claim for missed connecting flight international cover will be valid only if the departure timing is at least 6 hours after the scheduled arrival of the first flight. (Both flights have to be international)
  9. Claim for delayed flight cover would be valid only in the event of the flight delayed by more than 12 hours for international flight
  10. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this benefits shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai only. The existence of a dispute, if any, shall not constitute a claim against HSBC

Claim Procedure - For Personal Air Accidental and Travel Insurance Cover

  1. HSBC Premier MasterCard® credit card holder should contact & register claim at

  2. Within 7 Days ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd. will contact the claimant & provide the list of required documents which needs to be forwarded to ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd
  3. After receiving all required documents ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd. shall settle the claim in 15 working days
  4. Claim should be intimated within 90 days from the date of loss of life in case of personal air accident cover / occurrence of the incident in case of any of the travel inconvenience insurance covers
